Santa Barbara Airport Shuttle - does not shuttle from airport as of 2/8/08; only does wine tours. 3. The manager will waive the usual extra luggage charge for bike if cyclists mention "Ojai Valley Century". They usually do not accommodate bicycles, but they are willing to help us out if the cyclists pack their own bike in the shuttle (they realize these bikes are very expensive and don't want to assume any liability). The cyclists may have to break down their bike to fit it in. The driver will help with their luggage. 4. SCAT is a paratransit which means they only transport disabled and senior citizens. 5. Oxnard's Courtyard Marriott has a shuttle from Oxnard Airport to their hotel. Transportation to the ride start: A. Gold Coast Transit - (805) 487-4222 www.goldcoasttransit.org/ Local bus that has routes along Harbor Blvd. #12, Telephone Road and the #6 Pacific View Mall (spot to transfer to Ojai bus). Ventura to Ojai for ride start - $1.25 each way, exact change required, no extra charge for bike. This is not a great option because they can only handle 2 bikes at a time. They do have a stop #16 by Oakridge Inn in Oakview that leaves at 7:08 Sat. morn and the bus has a stop and turn-around at Libbey Park. They have a bus every hour and the last one leaves Libbey Park at 7:25 p.m. Always be at stop 5 minutes early. If you are looking at their website, it is important to note that the dot next to trips means that trip does not operate on Saturdays.

2. Holiday Inn Express at the Ventura Harbor is offering us a room rate of $109.00 plus tax. Their "special rate" for this weekend if you made an online reservation is $155, so this is a very good deal. It includes a full breakfast, but not until 7 am - 10 am on Saturday. Cyclists will have to call the hotel directly and mention "Ojai Valley Century". 15 rooms are blocked for OVC. This hotel is perfect for those who are traveling from LAX and need to take the shuttle into Ventura - this is the Ventura drop off location. *See below TRANSPORTATION #3.

Try the Ojai hotels first and if they are full Ventura is a very good alternative. It is approximately a 15 mile drive from the ride start and it's a beach town with a nice downtown area and lots to do.
